Spider-Man Remastered

Spider-Man – My First Game on the Channel

Spider-Man was the first game I played on my YouTube channel. It was an easy choice because of my love for comic books growing up. I’d watched my friends play the original on their PlayStations and was amazed at how realistic it felt—watching Spidey swing across New York. You could almost feel the air rushing past his head and imagine the smells of the city. You could practically hear the taxi drivers yelling from the streets below.

It wasn’t until the game finally came out on PC that I knew I’d have a real chance to take Spidey for a spin. I tried using a PlayStation controller, but for me, it was like trying to do sign language with one hand tied behind my back.

This was my chance to put the Azeron Cyro to the test. Like with every new adaptive controller, it took some time to get used to—plenty of kinks and software tweaks needed ironing out before I felt comfortable. I programmed a ton of macros into the Cyro, which took a while, but once everything was set and saved, I was good to go.

Halfway through the game, my Azeron broke—right in the middle of an intense chase scene where Spidey was after a rogue helicopter full of bad guys, weaving through buildings. Needless to say, the stress and tension had me pressing down way too hard. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

The added pressure of being new to streaming didn’t help either. I’d often finish long sessions only to realize I forgot to hit record. Sometimes the audio was terrible, and yeah—I forgot to keep my language clean a few times.

I can only hope I’ve improved since then—in both quality and temperament.

As for the game itself: I loved being Spider-Man. When you play a game called Spider-Man, you just want to be Spider-Man—not MJ, not Miles, etc.

Final Score: 6.5/10

Any game that still had Stan Lee in it deserves a little extra love.
