The Mouse with Big Promises (and Even Bigger Hands)
I had incredibly high hopes for this mouse. The concept was solid: use it like a regular mouse, but control your character’s movement with a tiny thumbstick placed exactly where your thumb naturally rests — assuming you’re right-handed.
Sounds cool, right? Unfortunately… it wasn’t quite the dream I’d imagined.
First off, this mouse was clearly designed for people with freakishly large hands. Like, “can palm a watermelon” large. I have medium-sized hands — the kind that are perfectly fine for day-to-day tasks like typing, gaming, or holding a taco.
And you know what they say about people with big hands…
Well, I don’t have them — but I do have big feet, and that’s what keeps me happy. 😏
Now, let’s talk about the software. Oh boy. Trying to program the macros and button layout felt like I was participating in some kind of UI escape room. The software would randomly refuse to save my changes, and when recording macros, it would sneak in extra commands you couldn’t delete — no matter how much you begged, pleaded, or threatened to uninstall it.
Needless to say, my experience wasn’t exactly magical. I went in excited and came out mildly betrayed.
BUT — there’s hope!
I recently discovered a much better piece of software called reWASD. It’s powerful, flexible, and may just fix everything the original software broke.
So if you’ve got big hands (like in that Violent Femmes song “Blister in the Sun” 🎶), and you’re armed with reWASD, this mouse might just work for you.
Me? I’ll be sticking to something that doesn’t require NBA-level finger span to operate.
